Access to clean water and sanitation has been a very big challenge in the globe. Many people in the globe have limited access to the clean drinking water and sanitation.According to the research report , only 1.5 % of home birth in developing countries involve safe water , poor sanitation, and hygiene. Only 4 million people in 9 countries have safe clean water and sanitation for generations. Clean water and good sanitation system are possible when every person performs their role in the environment. A few years ago the water and sanitation system were not good but now it is a little bit improved. By the use of latest technology, the cleanliness of water is possible by using filtration plants. We should use filtered plants in our homes, schools, road, colleges and everywhere. Dirty water can cause many diseases like fever, stomach problems, and many other diseases. According to a survey, one child dies every single minute from diarrheal disease caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation. There are more deaths than HIV/AIDS, MALARIA, and TUBERCHOLOROSIS.
In Pakistan, there are many countries in which there is limited access to clean drinking water.I have the heard the news on television that Karachi have a great problem of water. The clean water is not available to the people and there is also a poor sanitation system. So Karachi government should try to solve this problem because drinking clean water is the fundamental right of everyone. Approximately 90% of the water in developing countries is discharged directly into rivers, lakes, and seas. There is the tremendous economic gain that can be realized with improved drinking water and sanitation.
As we all know that we have been observing a lot of changes in the climate, our climatic conditions are not the same as they were a few years before. There is much increase in the hotness in summer and the duration of summer has also been prolonged very much which has ultimately decreased the duration of winter.
A country must have 25% of the forest contributing area but Pakistan has only 4% of the forest area which is depleting very fast because of market trade purpose causing another reason for a change in climate. Moreover, the glaciers have been melting causing floods due to which crops have been affecting and leading towards the food insecurity. Because of the huge change in climate, the most affecting and alarming situation is of food insecurity. There is a direct influence of the climate on the crops. Most of the area which has been hit by the floods is not recoverable since yet. But the remaining area can be prevented from the floods or the precautionary measures can be taken to minimize the impact of floods on the crops.
The Government, farmers and the experts should also take initiatives to make the land capable of raising of crops. The government can involve the experts to find out the possible solutions in order to solve the problem and introduce the ways that are most convenient and have the most drastic impact on the situation. The government can further take initiative to aware the people either by using media or the government servants to do efforts in this context. The efforts should be drawn for the farmers and help them to overcome the impact of climate change on the crops so that the issue of food insecurity can be solved to some extent.
Climate change is one of the most threatening and alarming issue grasping the focus of attention of everyone towards itself. It is the issue that must have to be addressed as early as possible or alternative measures should be taken to minimize its impact on livelihood. According to a survey, Pakistan is the 8th most affected country from this miserable situation and at the same time, it is the 3rd most vulnerable country in terms of climate change.
The factors that contribute mainly to climate change are a lack of social awareness and overuse of technology. People are not aware that how the overuse of technology is making a big disaster. The gasses produces from the automobiles is depleting the ozone layer which is a protective layer protecting us from the harmful rays coming towards us. Due to the depletion of the layer, the harmful rays come towards the earth, some of the solar radiation reflects back into space and the small portion is absorbed by the Earth that creates our atmosphere. Because of this absorption of rays, the temperature of the earth has been increased two to three folds if compared with the previous five to six years. This change in temperature has decreased the duration of winter and increased the duration of summer. Not only the duration has increased but the temperature is also very much high in summer. The amount of rainfall has also been decreased very much.
The change in climate is affecting the health of people. A warmer climate leads to higher levels of some air pollutants and more extreme weather conditions. It also increases the ranges of transmission of infectious diseases through contaminated water and unhealthy food.
Moreover, it is causing a big issue for the food security as it is drying the lands and impacting on the production of crops.
The possible solutions that can minimize the impact of climate are reduced reuse and recycle, use water efficiently, use less heat and air conditioning, drive less and encourage others to conserve.
